TEARS OF JOY AS GOV ENO GIVES NEW LEASE OF LIFE TO HOMELESS WIDOW IN URUE OFFONG /ORUKO

The people of Eyukor Village in Urueoffong Oruko Local Government Area of the State were indeed overwhelmed by the uncontrollable tears of Madam Eno Uffi, a homeless widow who was presented with a compassionate home, a two-bedroom bungalow with modern amenities, courtesy of the Akwa Ibom State Government.

Madam Uffi who reportedly lost her husband over 15 years ago and had been struggling to provide for her three children, was living in a dilapidated thatched building which was an eyesore, and a cause for community concern each time it rained.

She was presented with the house documents and business support grant of N500,000 by the State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, shortly after the commissioning of the 2.9Km Secretariat - Okuko II - Eweme Road with spur in Urue Offong/Oruko.

Represented by his Deputy, Senator (Dr) Akon Eyakenyi, she described the Governor as a man with a compassionate heart whose vision is to reach out to vulnurable and less privileged citizens.

"The target is to build at least 100 compassionate homes yearly, with a total of 400 homes and possibly more by the end of the first four years."

"The purpose is to touch lives as the Bible says when I was naked, you gave me clothes to wear and shelter. That is what Pastor Umo Eno is doing in Akwa Ibom State.

"Therefore, I stand on behalf of the Governor to Commission this for good use by the beneficiary in Jesus name, Amen," she said.

In a project overview, Special Assistant to the Governor on Humanitarian Services, Prince Nsikanabasi Umoekpo, described the facility as a well-furnished two-bedroom bungalow with modern amenities.

In a vote of thanks, the beneficiary, Madam Uffi who was visibly overwhelmed with gratitude appreciated the Governor for changing her story and prayed for God's unending blessings on him and his family.
